If you live in or are visiting San Marcos, you should try to find your way to Chepo's. Especially those who miss that traditional cooking from the Valley or Mexico. They do have some Tex but it's a lot more Mex, from traditional nopales to carne asada, to the agua fresca. This is my new spot for Mexican food when I get a craving.

I love local Mexican food restaurants and that is exactly what Chepo's is. The food is good and prepared relatively quickly. It always taste fresh and the prices are reasonable. I've always had good service from the waitstaff and usually get the same waitress. I recommend the Boko breakfast burrito with queso!
